Twitter

The idea is pretty simple: After you vote, send us tweet updates about the accessibility of your polling place. We take all your tweets and post them on our UCP Twitter Patrol Blog (twitterpatrol.blogspot.com). We'll also post information on who to contact if you need to report a problem. The result is an easily searchable database of reports from the field, so you can find out what's going on at polling places in your state! But the Twitter Patrol will only work if enough people participate. Fortunately, that's as easy as 1, 2, 3...
  1. If you don't already have a Twitter account, get one (twitter.com). The set-up process is quick and painless.
  2. Type "@ElectionPatrol Join!" into your update field, and we'll start following you.
  3. Then, on Election Day, simply send out a tweet about your polling place: Is it wheelchair accessible? Are there long lines? Is all the equipment working properly? Your tweet will show up on our blog, twitterpatrol.blogspot.com, and we'll tag it with relevant key words so other users can search for it.
It's that easy! So tell your friends, because the more Twitter Patrol members we have out there, the better. And in the meantime, you can follow us at: twitter.com/ElectionPatrol or check out our blog at twitter.com/ElectionPatrol. And as always, you can find more information on voter accessibility at DontBlockMyVote.org.

We also want your opinion on whether your voting experience was a "thumbs up", or a "thumbs down" and why. Help make your voice heard and identify if polling places across the United States are meeting the requirements of HAVA and the ADA.

Send us a tweet today and we'll see you November 4th.
